Crime Scene Cleaning UK Ltd

Police, Fire & Rescue & County Council Approved

Given the type of work carried out by Crime Scene Cleaning UK, Health & Safety is of paramount importance to us. We carry out our services in accordance with the following regulations and guidelines from the HSE.

The Health and Safety at work act (HSWA).

The management of Health and Safety at work regulations (MHSWR).

The control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH).

The Reporting of incidents, Disease and Dangerous Occurrences (RIDDOR)

Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations (PPE).

Given the limited information in the UK on the Health and Welfare of Crime Scene Cleaners who are responsible for the clean-up of blood and other body fluids from accidents, Homicides and Crime Scenes, we also follow the guidelines laid out by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), WHO (World Health Organization) and ABRA (America Bio-recovery Association).

There is a growing concern that the trauma scene industry is poorly represented, and that there is an increase of trauma / crime scene work related exposures, as human illness and disease increase. No two trauma / crime scenes occur exactly the same, therefore, the exposure of workers to various trauma / crime scene cleaning situations are expected to vary as well. The trauma / crime scene technicians must be familiar with how to protect themselves at all times, to achieve this the company will ensure that all employees are provided with such information, training and supervision to raise their awareness and duty of care under the provisions of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and its supportive regulations.

All equipment and systems of work that are used by and support  the company’s contractual requirements will be maintained and reviewed regularly to support the company’s safe working practices and to ensure minimal risk to the health, safety and welfare of the company’s employees.
